Update PC Now, Microsoft Says

A severe vulnerability is affecting Windows 10, and Microsoft is urging its users to update their PC’s.

Microsoft warned that an attacker who exploited this vulnerability could install programs, view and delete data, and create new user accounts with full user privileges. This allows hackers to take complete control of their PC and cause severe damage.

The security flaw, known as PrintNightmare, affects the Windows Print Spooler service. Researchers accidentally published a how-to guide for exploiting it.

Windows 10 and Windows 7 were the operating systems affected. And although Microsoft claimed to no longer release updates for Windows 7 beginning last year, they will develop a patch specifically for the old OS.
